Dog-Friendly Oceanfront Rentals in Kitty Hawk, NC
Oceanfront homes where your dog is part of the vacation — on a beach that welcomes leashed dogs all year.
Finding a pet-friendly oceanfront rental on the Outer Banks is harder than it should be — many beachfront homes simply don’t allow dogs. All three of our Kitty Hawk homes do. They sit directly on the sand at Milepost 3¾, so your morning dog walk starts the moment you step off the deck.
Why Kitty Hawk is great for dogs
- Leashed dogs are allowed on Kitty Hawk beaches year-round — some neighboring towns restrict dogs in summer.
- Wide, uncrowded sand along the residential Beach Road.
- Shady trails in Kitty Hawk Woods Coastal Reserve and Sandy Run Park for hot afternoons.
- Plenty of restaurants with outdoor seating nearby.
Pet policy at our homes
- Up to 2 dogs per home
- $250 pet fee per dog
- Please keep dogs off the furniture and beds and clean up in the yard and on the beach
- Crab House has a gated deck and side yard; all three have outdoor showers for rinsing sandy paws

Each of our homes allows up to two dogs. The pet fee is $250 per dog.
Are cats or other pets allowed?
A Carolina Conch is dogs only. Please ask through Vrbo before booking with any other pet.

Where is the nearest vet?
There are several veterinary clinics in Kitty Hawk and Kill Devil Hills along US-158, about 5–10 minutes from the homes. Save one in your phone before you arrive.
What should I pack for my dog at the beach?
Fresh water and a bowl, a long leash, waste bags, a towel for sandy paws, and booties or a shaded spot for hot summer sand. Avoid midday heat — early mornings and evenings are best.
