Outer Banks For Rent By Owner (OBXFRBO) started with three oceanfront homes on the Beach Road in Kitty Hawk — Crab House, Big Deck Beach House and A Carolina Conch — that our family has hosted guests in for years, earning hundreds of 5-star reviews along the way.
We live and work on the Outer Banks. We know which beach access is least crowded in July, where to get the best breakfast before a day on the sand, and what to do when a nor’easter rolls through in October. We built this site to share that local knowledge with our guests and to give other Outer Banks homeowners a better, fairer way to reach theirs.
